Shoppers are asking AI what to buy. Make sure it can see your products.
Shopify Catalog is how AI shopping assistants find what you sell. Shelfready scans every product, tells you exactly why each one is kept out or hard to match, and fixes what it can in bulk — with an undo for every change.
Free plan, no card. First scan runs the moment you install.
Your storefront looks fine. That's not what AI reads.
The Catalog takes your product data, strips the formatting, and judges what's left. A product can sell every day on your store and still never come up when a shopper asks an assistant for it.
Measured on one real 117-product Shopify store during development. Your catalog will differ — that's what the first scan is for.
Scan, see why, fix. Then watch the number fall.
Scan the whole catalog
The first scan starts on install. Small catalogs are read in seconds; large ones run as Shopify bulk operations in the background, and you can close the tab.
See every reason, per product
Not a score — the actual reasons. Each one says whether it keeps the product out of the Catalog entirely or just makes it harder to match a shopper's question.
Fix it without leaving the app
Repair hundreds of products in one press, or one at a time. Every bulk change records what was there before, so a single click puts it all back.
Two kinds of problem, kept apart.
Some faults shut the door. Others let the product in but leave an assistant little to match on. You should know which is which before deciding what to fix first.
Kept out Shopify won't list it
- Not published to any sales channel Fixed in one press
- Hidden from search engines Fixed in one press
- Still a draft, unlisted or archived You decide, then one press
- Priced at zero Set the price in the app
- No product title Write it, or draft with AI
- No product image Flagged — we won't invent one
- No storefront address Flagged with the reason
Hard to match Listed, but rarely found
- No description Fill it, or draft with AI
- Description runs together when stripped Repaired automatically
- No product category Pick from Shopify's tree
- Options that aren't about the product Removed in the app
Anything you've done on purpose can be marked as intended, and it stops being counted.
The same description, as the Catalog receives it.
Spec tables imported from suppliers are perfectly good HTML. Strip the tags with nothing in their place and every field glues to the next. Shelfready puts a line break between the blocks — no words added, none removed, and your product page renders exactly as before.

It only writes when you press a button.
Undo for every bulk change
Each repair keeps a snapshot of what it replaced. Undo writes back the original, byte for byte.
Checked after it's done
After a repair, Shelfready reads the products back from Shopify and counts what actually changed — not what it meant to.
AI drafts, you decide
AI fills the text box; nothing is saved until you press Save. A draft that invents facts your product doesn't have is thrown away — and not charged.
Copy for shoppers, copy for AI
Point the Catalog at a separate title and description field, and write for assistants without touching your product page.
Categories from Shopify's own tree
Search or browse the standard product taxonomy, or ask for a suggestion — then set it on one product or a whole selection.
Stays current on its own
Scheduled scans, plus a heads-up when products have changed since the last one, so the numbers you're reading are never quietly stale.
Fixing is free. You pay for scale and for AI.
Every plan can repair products and write copy by hand. AI is the only thing that costs per use, because every call costs us too.

Questions merchants ask first
Will it change my store without asking?
No. Scans only read. Nothing is written to Shopify until you press a fix button, and bulk changes keep a snapshot so you can undo them.
Will fixing descriptions change how my product pages look?
The run-on repair only adds line breaks between blocks of HTML, which browsers don't display — your page renders the same. If you've pointed the Catalog at a separate description field, Shelfready writes there instead and leaves your product description alone.
Does the AI write and publish copy by itself?
Never. It puts a draft in the box and you decide whether to save it. Drafts that use facts your product doesn't have are discarded and not charged.
What is Shopify Catalog?
It's Shopify's product feed for AI shopping — the data assistants use to find and recommend products from Shopify stores. If a product isn't in it, or arrives with little to match on, it doesn't get suggested.
Is there anything it can't fix?
A few things are yours to provide: product images, and decisions like whether a product should be B2B-only. Shelfready flags them and tells you why, but won't invent a photo or make a business call for you.
How big a catalog can it handle?
There's no SKU limit on any plan. Large catalogs are read with Shopify bulk operations in the background, and bulk repairs show their progress as they go.
